Who are we?

Crescendo International College is a subsidiary of a property developer (i.e. Crescendo Corporation Bhd) which is listed on the
main board of Bursa Malaysia. Crescendo Corporation Berhad is renowned for successfully developing Taman Perindustrian Cemerlang
into one of Johor’s largest private industrial zones with more than 900 factories. Crescendo International College officially started in
Jan 2001. Now it is a leading college in Johor with significant accomplishments in accounting, management, law and pre-university
education. When the 2nd campus at Desa Cemerlang is ready, the college intends to branch out to other areas such as engineering,
creative arts, etc.

The 2nd campus, in this 1st phase, can accommodate up to 1,200 students at any time. It has 2 large lecture halls, science laboratories, a computer lab, a 2-storey library, a cafeteria, a 3-storey student hostel, etc. One of its unique features is that every classroom is specially designed with an exceptionally high ceiling to accommodate the use of modern teaching high-tech tools such as projectors & visualisers. The ceiling has to be high so that the projected image can be viewed by every student. The entire campus will be Wi-Fi enabled to allow a digital infrastructure where both lecturers & students can enjoy a new & exciting learning experience brought about by the internet or a virtual learning system (such as the University of London’s VLE). In addition, Wi-Fi based devices such as an iPad can be widely used in the classroom. In Sept 2012, all full-time students (studying A Level, University of London programmes & ACCA) in the current city campus shall be transferred to the Desa Cemerlang campus.

 

Our Mission

Crescendo International College is entrusted to fulfill the mission of providing quality education at an affordable price.
The “quality” in education refers to (1) world-class internationally recognised degrees from the prestigious University
of London, CIMA, ACCA and the Cambridge A-Level qualification, (2) good lecturers who produce prize winners and high pass
rates, (3) inculcation of good attitudes in students and (4) the use of technology for effective teaching in the classroom.

Crescendo also holds the philosophy that education should be affordable and should not overburden the parents. Crescendo’s
motto of “ordinary people extraordinary dreams” reflects this. By making the fees affordable, higher education is now accessible
to the ordinary people. Many of our students- some who earlier didn't dare to dream of becoming a lawyer, or accountant,
or getting a university degree - have realized their “extraordinary” dreams through Crescendo. Gratitude also goes to PTPTN
for providing study loans for the students.

 

The “Crescendo” brand name came into the Johor education scene in January 2002, and after a few years of hard
work later, we've made some notable accomplishments:

1. Crescendo Leads in Accounting Studies

ACCA
For the first time in Johor, in the year 2002, the first batch of ACCA graduates was produced. Crescendo accomplished
this with the help of a team of experienced and dedicated lecturers. Some of the lecturers were flown-in from other
states. Thereafter, Crescendo has been making the dreams of Johoreans who wish to be chartered accountants possible.
Crescendo is also one of the largest ACCA colleges in Southern Malaysia. Many of our ACCA students possess degrees and
diplomas which they had earlier obtained from various other universities and colleges in Malaysia. Our ACCA graduates are
now working in Singapore, public listed companies, multinationals, and local accounting firms in Johor.

 

CIMA
Crescendo is the exclusive tuition provider for the Chartered Management Accounting programme from CIMA in Johor. CIMA is
the world's largest management accounting body and it specialises in producing graduates who wish to work in commercial
organisations such as manufacturing, retailing, etc. Crescendo's student has also won prizes as a top scorer in some of the
papers.

University of London's Accounting & Finance
Crescendo also conducts a world-class accounting degree programme from the prestigious University of London International
Programmes. The is one of the world’s most recognized accounting degrees with accreditations from ICPAS (Singapore),
CPA(Australia), ICAEW(UK), CIMA(UK) & ACCA(UK). Crescendo’s MQA Accreditation for this degree also means that MIA(Malaysia)
recognizes it & its graduates can become Chartered Accountants in Malaysia after sitting for MIA’s Qualifying Exam. This
accounting degree is UNIQUE because it is designed by the famous London School of Economics & is awarded by University of London.

2. The Pioneer Law College in Johor


From 2004 onwards, Crescendo launched the law degree programme from the prestigious University of London;
thus, making it possible for Johoreans to read for a degree in law entirely in Johor. The University of London’s Bachelor of Laws
is also currently the only foreign law degree that can be conducted entirely in Malaysia and is recognised by Malaysia’s Legal
Profession Qualifying Board for the purpose of qualifying for the CLP (Certificate in Legal Studies) examination. Now our law
graduates can be found in top Malaysian & Singapore law firms & in Australia. Some are not in practice but in commercial organizations
such as banks.

 

3. The Only Registered Centre for University of London

In September 2006, Crescendo’s first batch of University of London International Programmes students who major in Management
and Accounting & Finance graduated. From then onwards, our University of London graduates can be found working in
international accounting firms, multi-nationals, banks, and other organizations in Malaysia & Singapore. All of them
chose University of London because of the quality of its curriculums & its reputation as one of the world’s greatest universities.

4. The Largest Cambridge A Level Centre in Johor (Commerce stream)

With Crescendo, students from Johor do not need to travel to K.L for A-Level (awarded by University of
Cambridge International Examinations) anymore. Many of our A Level students have graduated and are now in our
Law, Management, Accounting & Finance and ACCA programme. Crescendo is also starting the science stream in
April 2012.

 

5. Star Lecturers

Crescendo has become a home to many good lecturers. One of Crescendo’s philosophies is students learn from
people, that is lecturers. Therefore intelligent, experienced and dedicated lecturers are of utmost importance.
Our lecturing team consists of lecturers who have produced World Prize Winners and Malaysian Prize Winners.
Some are 'international' lecturers who fly to other teaching centres, for example, Hong Kong, Singapore, Uganda,
Vietnam, Kuala Lumpur, East Malaysia and etc.
