The Applied Knowledge Level lays the groundwork for your ACCA journey, introducing fundamental accounting, business, and financial management principles. This level helps you build a strong foundation in financial reporting, management accounting, and business operations, preparing you for advanced studies in professional finance.

At this level, you will:
✔ Develop a fundamental understanding of accounting principles, business technology, and financial management.
✔ Gain essential skills in bookkeeping, cost control, and financial reporting to support business decision-making.
✔ Build a strong knowledge base to progress into the Applied Skills Level and beyond.

This module focuses on understanding business organisations, their structures, the role of accountants, and how external factors such as the economy and digital technology impact businesses.

Capt(R) Allan Tan Ee Ming MMIM

B. Sc. (Physics) from Sussex University, UK
Diploma in Education from National University of Malaysia (UKM)



Allan was a three-year government-sponsored undergraduate in Physics in the UK. Apart from lecturing on Physics, he also specialises in business and management subjects. Previously, he taught the CIMA programme (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), focusing on Enterprise (E1 & E2 modules). In addition, he taught the prestigious University of Cambridge A Level program. One of his Business students won the Cambridge Learners Award for achieving the top score in Malaysia, where there were over 5000 candidates.

To further share his experience and knowledge, he has been lecturing on ACCA Applied Knowledge Module, i.e., the subject Business and Technology (BT), since 2018. Overall, Allan has given more than 20 years of service in teaching business and management subjects. He has also held administrative positions of university B.Sc. programme head and Business faculty head before.
