Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification (SCAQ)

Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification (SCAQ) is a qualification offered by Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA). Working professionals and degree holders can pursue the SCAQ with Crescendo International College (CIC). The SCAQ learning pathway includes: 

 

 

1. Foundation Programme

  • Principles of Financial Reporting (PFF)
  • Advanced Financial Reporting (AFF)
  • Accounting for Decision Making (ADF)
  • Assurance (ASF)
  • Financial Management (FMF)
  • Singapore Taxation (TXF)

 

Degree holders may be eligible for exemptions in the Foundation Programme based on their academic qualifications. See "How to register as an SCAQ Candidate" below for more info. 



2. Professional Business Accountant

To obtain ISCA's Professional Business Accountant (PBA) designation, students must complete the Foundation Programme and an additional module known as the Ethics & Professionalism Module (EP). EP is delivered fully online, has no exam and can be taken concurrently with Foundation Programme. 

 

3. Professional Programme

 Technical Modules

  • Financial Reporting (FR)
  • Assurance (AS)
  • Business Value, Governance & Risk (BG)
  • Taxation (TX)


Capstone Module (Taken only after completing the four technical modules & obtaining 2 years of practical experience. 

  • Integrative Business Solutions (IB)

 

4. Becoming a Chartered Accountant of Singapore

To become a Singapore Chartered Accountant, you must complete the Professional Programme and accumulate a minimum of three (3) full years of practical experience and have at least 450 working days in an Accredited Training Organisation (ATO)

Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) 

More than 500 leading employers in Singapore and the region (including in Johor Bahru) are registered ATOs, offering structured and monitored environments that accelerate your professional development. 

Upon completing the Professional Programme and satisfying the Practical Experience requirement, you shall qualify as a Chartered Accountant of Singapore.

ICAEW is recognised by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA)—meaning you can also qualify as a Chartered Accountant in Malaysia.

  • An email will be sent to you to set a password.
  • After that, you will be directed to the ISCA eService homepage.
  • Click “Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification” from the sidebar menu to log in to SCAQ portal. Fill up the details, upload your documents (e.g. academic) and pay the Application fee.

3. Exemption & Enrolment of Modules

  • Log in to SCAQ portal. Proceed to your exemption & enrolment, followed by payment.
